The Name Behind the Stadium

AMI INSURANCE - covering new ground
AMI Insurance is no stranger to being a major contributor to the communities in which it does business. The organisation has more than 200 sponsorships around the country.
Chief Executive John Balmforth is very clear that AMI Insurance, which is mutual insurer (its customers are also its owners) must play an active role in New Zealand communities, be socially responsible and benefit its customers and the public.
"AMI Insurance gets actively involved in its many community initiatives across New Zealand. Of the more than 200 sponsorships, some are relatively new, such as Parents Inc, Walking School Buses and the Canterbury Rugby sponsorship. Others have been developed over many years, such as AMI's principal sponsorship of the Christchurch Symphony (now in its 13th year) and links with 16 Rugby Referees Associations around the country going back more than a decade."
"The same can be said for this new sponsorship. AMI Stadium gives us great exposure around the country and that's good for us as a business. It is also a way to contribute back to the economy and to support the city where our head office is located."
"People from all walks of life come to the stadium for sporting events or concerts, making it an iconic part of the community landscape of New Zealand. AMI Insurance works with people from all areas of New Zealand with a real grass roots approach. That's why Vbase and AMI Insurance want the community to help name the new East Stand when the resource consent process is completed."
"We're also looking forward to working with Vbase and other key partners of the stadium such as the Canterbury Rugby Football Union to keep attracting more fans to AMI Stadium."
